Memorializing #MALCOLMX on Memorial Day
As the nation honors soldiers that have passed away in honor of their country- it is only fitting that we pause and honor Malcolm X, undeniably a man that fought for his people and aimed to better America and defend the Human Rights of all people. In the line of that duty, Malcolm was gunned down. He is a fallen soldier, General at that, in a domestic war that was waged on Black people in a segregated America that lynched innocent Black people and bombed churches killing little girls. Malcolm X was a soldier on the front lines. He held is post with unflinching dignity, bravery, and compassion. I created this Conceptual Art piece titled Memorialize to honor Malcolm X and his brave service on behalf of Black America and America as a whole. #malcolmx #weekofmalcolm #iselyfe #conceptualart #fallensoldiers #americanheroes #blackheroes #memorialday

Malcolm X Explains How to Solve the Race Problem

I feel a great strength in Malcolm X was his emotional maturity. The more evolved spiritually Malcolm became, the more paced his emotions became, the more bright his energy. Here, X educates, challenges, and charms an interviewer all in 2 minutes. #WEEKOFMALCOLM

#MalcolmXFACTS Betty Shabazz, the wife of Malcolm X, was a powerful woman in her own right. She was a nurse and nutrition educator who would disclose in her adult life that in her early childhood her foster parents sheltered her from racism, and that it wasn’t until she attended college in Alabama that she experienced overt prejudice. It is widely known that her husband, Malcolm X, took the religious pilgrimage to Mecca- but after Malcolm’s assassination, Betty too made her pilgrimage to Mecca and returned with a reaffirmed spirit and a new name: Bahiyah .

Today is the birthday of the Notorious B.I.G. BABY BABY! Bigge would be 42yrs old today had he not been senselessly murdered at the age of 24 years ago. As we continue to roll out This #WEEKOFMALCOLMX—- Here’s a video blend I put together of Malcolm X’s famous “Who taught you to Hate Yourself” speech over Biggie’s famous “One More Chance” instrumental. Enjoy and share! #HappyBirthdayBiggie
